The Giving Tree is a program that is organized and maintained by the FRN and Family Support Center by collecting donated items from the community, that are seasonally appropriate, and then distributing those items via a tree looking display outside our main office.

Backpack Buddies are boxes distributed in the public schools of Lewis County that include 2 breakfast items, 2 snack items, 2 drinks, and 2 dinner-type items to students each weekend.

A large part of the FRN involves making referrals to, and having knowledge of, local resources, programs, and projects available to the community. Resources include info on local programs, education materials, and prevention tools. 

The Parent Resource Navigator will work with both parent-clients and their representative attorney to communicate goals, engage clients in opportunities to meet case goals and motivate parent-clients to progress during their improvement period positively.

Success Closet offers job specific, work appropriate, clothing to those entering the workforce. In addition to clothing, resume building, mock interviewing, and job search assistance is offered. 

The FRN is a member of the National Diaper registry. Diaper pantry is open during the same times as food pantry (Tuesday/Thursday 9am-1pm). Last year we distributed over 51,000! 

WV Healthy Grandfamilies is a series of discussion groups held with grandparents raising grandchildren and supportive social work services for assessment, advocacy, and follow-up needs.  In addition, the program provides up to 6 months of social work support services. 

The FRN offers homelessness support through referrals to housing, shelter placement, and food assistance

Hygiene pantry includes 3 mini hygiene carts at LC DHHR, health department, and library. The FRN also supplies hygiene products to LC schools and distributes full size hygiene items during food pantry hours or by request. 

The FRN has Parents as Teachers that services Lewis, Upshur, Marion, Harrison, Clay, and Braxton counties. Parents as Teachers is a home visitation program for families that are expecting or have a child under 5 years old. PAT aims to get children ready for pre-K through developmental play and activities. 

Life Skills and Parenting Classes are offered through our PRN program. These classes are currently offered on a referral only basis. 

The FRN has 4 Governor Highway Safety Certified Car Seat Technicians. These technicians can install and check car seats for proper and safest use. 

Try This aims to help knock West Virginia off the top of the worst health lists, community by community, by building a statewide grassroots network of healthy-community leaders who expand opportunities for physical activity and/or healthy food in their communities.

The food pantry is one of our largest programs under the FRN. Food pantry is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9am-1pm. Fresh produce is available on a weekly basis, and full, shelf-stable food orders are available on a monthly basis.
